Imperial Army Second Lieutenant

I was fortunate enough to receive many letters from enthusiastic readers of the Zoids Battle Story, the first Zoids war history chronicle written in ZAC 2038. One of these letters was from renowned xenolinguist Dr. Hazelhurst, who encouraged me to translate my book into other planetary languages. To me, this was a dream come true, and I had no reason to object. Thanks to Dr. Hazelhurst's efforts, the Zoids Battle Story will now be available to the people of several planets, including the third planet in the solar system.

When I was writing the Zoids Battle Story, I was a captain in the Republican Army and was about to lead the Cannontortoise battalion to the siege of the Imperial Capital. I continued writing the manuscript, stealing time between marches, and finished the final manuscript on the eve of the siege, in a field tent just outside the Imperial Capital. The next day, I entrusted the manuscript I'd just finished to the Puterasu pilot returning to the Republic, and participated in the fierce battle that would remain in the history of Zoids warfare, the Siege of the Imperial Capital. The result of the battle—as written in Chapter 3 of this book—was the beginning of a new battle, a long one indeed.

This day, which could be said to be the beginning of the Second Zoids War for both the Republic and the Imperial armies, was also my last day as a soldier. In the battle in front of the Royal Palace, my Cannontortoise caught fire after being hit by heavy artillery fire from the Imperial Guard protecting the palace, and I escaped with a serious injury to my left leg. In exchange for this honorable wound, I gave up on my dream of becoming a field commander and decided to participate in the Zoids war as a military history researcher.

I wrote my first book, the Zoids Battle Story from the perspective of the history of new Zoids development. The invincible champion, the Zoid Gojulas. The Ironkong, who usurped its throne. The high-speed Zoid, the Sabretiger, also joined the battle. The Ultrasaurus, developed with the fate of the Republic at stake. The Ironkong MK-II, developed by that tragic genius, Commando Echo, at the risk of his life in order to defeat the Ultras. The Zoid Gojulas MK-II that shot down Commando Echo during a blizzard on the vast ice fields.

It goes without saying that behind these battle-hardened Zoids mecha were scientists and engineers who continued to carry out development day and night, as well as the pilots who fought at the risk of their own lives. What were these people thinking and how did they act behind the scenes of such glorious battles? How did they survive? And what were their thoughts as they fell? I hope to write about these things in this second book.

Zoids Battle Story 2 is the story of two soldiers. This is the story of the battle between Colonel Ericsson, a Republican soldier, and Second Lieutenant Toby Duncan, an Imperial soldier. If it weren't for this brutal war, these two men might've become friends, transcending borders and differences in age. Please accompany me for a moment as I read the story of these two courageous soldiers who faithfully fulfilled their duties as fate dictated.
