Exhibition Works: About The Event

Introduction

Zoids, at the time powered by springs and motors, were born in 1983 based on the concepts of a team of creators at Takara Tomy, including Mitsutoshi Tokuyama.

Eventually, the Zoids toys spawned mangas and animes, becoming a huge success. One of the reasons for this is that Tokuyama and his team's concepts remained at its core and never wavered. By looking at the concept art that has carried Zoids throughout the years, we believe you'll be able to experience the source of the great Bio-Machine Zoids.

In addition, we've invited Yuji Kaida, a leading figure in box art and a well-known monster artist to be our guest artist, to express Zoids illustrations from the perspective of an illustrator. Kaida has held original art exhibits with the Hakone Open-Air Museum for the past 27 years, and its been a moving experience to welcome him as a guest at this special exhibit commemorating the 25th anniversary of GoFa's opening in Aoyama.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of visitors will be limited and events such as panel sessions, autograph sessions, and workshops will be canceled. However, the interview between Tokuyama and Kaida will be screened on video at the venue, and the event will be broadcast nationwide in live-action VR, so we hope you'll access it through the GoFa website.

Finally, we'd like to express our sincere gratitude to Takara Tomy and all those who love Zoids for their cooperation in making this exhibit possible.
