While stealth Zoids aren't necessarily a new concept, the Stealth Viper is quite unique in its ability to hide, because it's one of the lowest-set Zoids to exist. It has thus played an important role in wars where preserving as many combat units as possible was a vital necessity. [1] |
- Details of Design
Chainability
The Stealth Viper uses one main type of joint that connects each segment of its body. Because these joints are universal throughout the Zoid, the segments of two or more Stealth Vipers can be chained together to create one incredibly long snake.
This gimmick is so prominent that the animes exclusively use 3D models with extended body segments. You can see an example of this to the right, with the Zoids Genesis Stealth Viper.
- Military History
ZAC 2034, Rollout
During the middle phase of the Central Continent War, battle resources grew then, and the determining factor became which army could outlast the other. This made ambush Zoids highly sought after, and the Stealth Viper was developed in response to that need. Its incredibly low posture allowed it to lie in wait, then ambush enemies who would walk right up to it without realizing it was there. It sported higher offensive power than the Guysack, and was deployed to desert and forest regions to carry out its purpose.
ZAC 2099, November, Western Continent War
With the Death Saurer Revival Plan disrupted, and the Republic's units now having an opening to escape, they retreated to the east, away from the Empire's troops. Although the Empire sent pursuit units to run them down, the Stealth Viper hid in waiting, and shot them out of the sky with its superior anti-air capabilities. At this time, Stealth Viper was the sole ground unit that was feared by flying Zoids.

A tiny gun on the nose of the Stealth Viper. It's a fast-firing gun, and because of the Stealth Viper's unique body type, it can attack from nearly any angle.
- 2-Shot Rocket Launcher x2

These small rockets are attached halfway down the tail, on either side. Their attachment allows them to rotate upwards towards aerial threats.
- 40mm Heavy Machine Gun x2

The Heavy Machine Guns are stationed on either side of the Stealth Viper's hood. Like the Vulcan Gun, the Stealth Viper's incredible flexibility allows a wide range of fire. In addition, the mount for the weapon can swivel up and down, a full 360 degrees.
- Anti-Aircraft Missile x2
Anti-Aircraft Missile x2: 地対空連装ミサイル
Two missiles that are equipped to the tip of the tail. They make use of the Stealth Viper's excellent articulation to target Zoids in the sky, and the joint allows them to rotate left and right.
- Small Calibre Anti-Aircraft Laser Machine Gun x2
Small Calibre Anti-Aircraft Laser Machine Gun x2: 小口径対空レーザー機銃x2
As the name implies, this weapon fires high-speed energy shots, and specializes in anti-aircraft fire. It's attached just in front of the mid section, on a joint that allows it to rotate up and down.
