The Saicurtis is one of the earliest flying Zoids ever to be mass-produced. It follows an attack helicopter design scheme, and is still feared by ground troops to this day.

- Details of Design
Low-Altitude Flight
When the Saicurtis was first created, it was created for low-altitude combat with the intent purpose of targeting mobile ground troops. The strafing gun fire soon became feared among all of the Republic's ground troops, who often had no way to combat the swift and agile Zoids during their original campaign.
However, while the Saicurtis was particularly strong against ground troops, it had virtually no dogfighting prowess. It wasn't uncommon for it to fall victim to other aerial units, such as the Pteras. Even so, it's still said to be one of the best units for striking ground troops, and also plays an active role as an escort unit for the ground troops of its own army.

ZAC 2099, August, Western Continent War
Saicurtis was among the Imperial Troops (pictured, not mentioned) that swarmed the Helic Republic army during the war for the Western Continent. It was pictured during the battle in the Red Rust.

This energy-based weapon is stationed at the tip of Saicurtis' horn, and designed to target ground troops as the Saicurtis swoops down from the air. The way that it's visually depicted implies that it has a high rate of simultaneous fire from both barrels. In top of that, it's shown firing in unison with the particle guns.

The Composite Sensor is located at the base of the horn. It's the clear lense that's directly in front of the pilot. We haven't yet found any information on how this sensor works, or what specifically it detects.

The Thruster Binders are the Saicurtis' wings, which are typically closed over its back while landed. During flight, the wings fold out.

During the war of ZAC 2099, the Saicurtis was up against much stronger Zoids than in the past. So, the newer models that were being rolled out into the war were equipped with small-calibre Charged Particle guns, to help them fend off their more robust enemies.
