- Military History

~ZAC 2100, January, Development

After the Old War, the remnants of the defeated Zenebas Empire were absorbed into the Guylos Empire. Many of their Zoids, including Red Horns were modified following their introduction to their new army. Red Horns were customized with Beam Gatling sets and painted black, redubbed as Dark Horns. These powerful Zoids continued to play an active role in the army until they were discontinued for technical and economical reasons.

However, when the Western Continent War intensified, the Guylos Empire arranged a competition between two development teams. One using two pre-existing Zoids with enhanced armaments and one newly developed Zoid based on the Organoid System. Piloted by Payle Geordot, the Red Horn GC stood as one of the test Zoids, once again reviving the equipment loadout of the old war. Unfortunately, it was taken out almost immediately by the Geno Saurer, along with its ally, a Saber Tiger AT. Because of the overwhelming one-sidedness of this test, headquarters immediately ordered that the Geno Saurer be mass produced.

In spite of this test, the Red Horn GC's firepower impressed those in charge, and the Zoid was rolled out as an experimental upgrade for ace machines in the Imperial Army. It's later clarified that 1,500 Red Horn BG (Beam Gatling) were active in the Artillery Force by the end of ZAC 2100, likely becoming the final mass-production form of the Red Horn GC, though this is not officially clarified.

- Equipment Information

- Beam Gatling Gun

Beam Gatling Gun: ビームガトリングガン

This incredibly powerful weapon fires energy shots, and is said to be strong enough to fire through two medium -scale Zoids at once. Though the assembly consists of several weapons, the entire assembly can rotate nearly 360 degrees as well as rise up and down.

- Beam Launcher

Beam Launcher: ビームランチャー

The Beam Launcher is the second key weapon of the GC upgrade. It's installed to the left of the assembly and holds the surface-to-surface missile pod and the composite sensor unit. It can rotate with the rest of the assembly, though its capabilites aren't discussed.
