Story Information
Pilots: Introduction:
  • Bacon

- Details of Design

Electrical Retention

Fangtiger has a powerful electric generator on its back, but this electricity permeates the metal of its body. This resulted in the discovery of the Fangtiger in the first place. Its skeleton became magnetized as a result of the accumulation of electricity, and resulted in an adventurer's compass malfunctioning.

- Concept Art

This concept of the Fangtiger was first shown off as a secret card in the Zoids: Battle Card Hunter arcade game.

Several early concepts were also seen in a CoroCoro interview with one of the lead staff members of Zoids. These concepts were hashed out in 3D instead of 2D.

- Equipment Information

- Bold Sickle

Bold Sickle: ボルトシックル

Two giant teeth, typical to saber tooth tigers. With great piercing ability it's no surprise that these weapons are used in Fangtiger's final blast. They're almost always depicted in flat silver, and used without a charge. During the Final Blast, however, they glow gold with energy, like the Laser Sabers seen in earlier big cat species. Sadly it never succeeded in landing the attack. [2]

- Claws

Claws:

Although not listed in its equipment, Fangtiger is more than capable of defending itself with its claws. In fact, these weapons are probably used more than its fangs in combat. They're enough to finish off most small scale Zoids. Especially raptors. [2]

- Electric Generator

Electric Generator: エレキジェネレーター

Fluff on Fangtiger's back isn't just for show. These plates are used for generating electricity. This is most noticeable in the Final Blast, this electricity seems residual in the Zoid itself. Noted most clearly in the restoration records, where the high concentration of electricity magnetized the skeleton.

- Panthera Armor

Panthera Armor: パンテラアーマー

The thick armor on Fangtiger's upper back. It houses the Electric Generators and Twin Fangs when they're not in use, and flips outwards for the Wild Blast.

- Thunder Tail

Thunder Tail: サンダーテイル

Fangtiger's tail. Not much is noted about this particular weapon, though it's often used to smack enemy Zoids in the anime.

- Twin Fang

Twin Fang: ツインファング

The two silver blades on Fangtiger's back. These are a part of its Wild Blast, and not used until it activates. Once used, however, they snap forward to slice through any enemies in its way.
