Sona is the princess of the country of Ya Han, from Zoids Generations. She's quite extravagant, demanding much of her surroundings. At the same time, she's fearless, rushing into battle with her prized Zoid, a custom Saint Gale named Empressa.

Sona was originally a fan art submission by Keizo Sugimoto to Dengeki Hobby Magazine during Zoids Generations' run. The segment known as Zi-Forum showed off fan-submitted works, and even gave them a chance to have their submissions featured in the main part of the story, and both Empressa and Sona got featured as story characters. |

Chapter 4, Investigation
When Johannes, King of Ya Han heard of a growing incursion of Bio Zoids he sent none other than his own daughter and her Zoid, Empressa, to investigate. When they met up with the knights to form a special dispatch team to investigate the swarm, they themselves were set upon by Bio Zoids, and came to realize that the problem had already reached Ya Han. After receiving help from Midori and the Jin Commando Squad, Sona followed the retreating Bio Zoids, hoping to discover something akin to a nest.
By pursuing the sound of their footsteps she was able to follow them throughout the night, preserving what little flare ammunition she had left. When the group clashed with something else she could only hear by its footsteps the air filled with screams, and firing her flare into the sky, she witnessed a much larger Bio Zoid slaughtering its smaller brethren. When the light died, so soon did the screams. The beast departed the scene, and in the morning what she found instead of a nest was a graveyard of Bio Zoids, all missing their cores. This peculiar sight prompted Sona to return to Ya Han and report her strange findings.
Chapter 8, The Final Battle
Sona joined the final battle along with her Zoid, Empressa. Their presence was particularly important as the main group, who'd be tackling the largest threats on the ground had been plagued by flying Bio Zoids in their last attempt.
- Notable Facts
- When Sona travels she takes a number of transports with full staff, such as cooks, doctors, and musicians. This convoy includes Gustavs hauling a makeshift portable dining room complete with chandeliers, lighting, and long tables large enough to seat 10 people with cushioned chairs. The dining table would actually be twice as long, but had to be divided in two to fit in the trailers.
- Sona is noted to get particularly persnickety if people fail to address her as Princess.
- Zoids
Saint Gale "Empressa"
Empressa, a symbol of Ya Han, is a modified Saint Gail featuring a specialized sword + laser gun and shield + gatling gun combo. This Zoid is ferocious, and has little trouble striking down aerial Bios, supporting its fellow troops from the skies.
