- Rare Hertz
- Introduction
The Rare Hertz is a mysterious pulse depicted in the Zoids anime that disrupts a Zoid's combat systems and, at its most extreme, causes them to either deactivate or run wild. Those affected can begin developing violent tendencies. Though it is technically possible to reason with a Zoid affected by the Rare Hertz this is such a dangerous task that it's highly likely the Zoid would kill those attempting to appeal to it before it overcame the pulse.
- Notable Facts
- Rare Hertz are almost impossible to avoid. While some may be consistent in location (such as the valley it was first depicted in being treated as a static location) it's said that the source of the Rare Hertz moves in an unpredictable manner. There's no telling when or where it'll occur next.
- The effects of the Rare Hertz can be minimized by a Pulse Guard, which seems to come standard with most Zoids. However, this will only cover a Zoid for a certain period of time, so it's advised to take the opportunity to evacuate the area as quickly as possible.
- Having no pulse guard, Organoids are affected by the Rare Hertz, first becoming lethargic and then violent.
- The earliest signs of a Rare Hertz are minor control configuration issues, such as sights being out of alignment.
- When Organoids are effected by the Rare Hertz, their eyes can change color. Sieg's changed from red to green.
- History
First Depiction, Episode 9
The Rare Hertz first appeared when Bang and his friends were being chased by the Imperial Army. The enemy Zoids suddenly peeled away, having detected distortions in their targeting systems. The group continued on, finding that they were entering a valley with a Rare Hertz. This prompted them to activate the Pulse Guards, but Sieg, who didn't have one, became lethargic. Soon the Organoid attacked, fusing to the Shield Liger and damaging Irvine's Command Wolf before fleeing. They tracked him across the valley and eventually to the edge of a cliff, where he became violent towards Bang. He only came back to his senses when he and Bang fell over the edge of the cliff, returning to his normal self in order to save his friend.
The Rare Hertz of Eveopolis, Episode 60 ~ 61
When Bang Freiheit was approaching Eveopolis, trying to reach Fine, he was attacked by a swarm of Rev Raptors and Guysacks. Normally sleeper Zoids in the region, he suspected they were under the influence of a Rare Hertz. This Rare Hertz was confirmed, and seemed to be in effect up until Eveopolis, where there seemed to be no Rare Hertz effects present, implying it may have surrounded the city. This is not confirmed, however.
