Zoids Official Fan Book Update!

Posted: 2020-04-22 21:08:48

An update has rolled out for the next chapter of Zoids Official Fan Book Vol. 2! This chapter introduces Irvine, and the Gojulas the Ogre. As many of you may know, Keiji Fujiwara, the Japanese voice actor of Irvine and Jack Cisco, passed away on April 12th. It is only fitting that this was the next chapter to be added. He provided the voice for one of the most famous and beloved characters in Zoids, as well as numerous other roles in popular series. We wish all the best to those mourning his loss.

Zoids Wild Dubtitles Update!

Posted: 2020-04-22 21:08:35

Episodes 12 and 13 have been added to the dubtitles page for Zoids Wild. Episode 13 is generally where everyone agrees this series makes its mark. It sets into motion many of the stronger story aspects of Wild, so if you've not given the series a chance so far, we recommend at least watching this episode. On the note of watching, we've also changed it from the youtube release to a dual-audio blu-ray release, generously provided by Mecha! So you can truly appreciate the fights that take place. We will update our older files to be timed to these files shortly.

Zoids Wild EX-ZERO Update!

Posted: 2020-04-18 20:38:09

Zoids Wild EX-ZERO has been given its own page over in the books section (last image in the stories category). It is also still linked through the HJM article. With this change, Chapter 2 has also been added! Please bare in mind that this uses automatic translation, so will have some mistakes. All scans are there, though, including story pages, advertisements, etc.

I also wanted to ask for some opinions. The books section right now has every volume posted separately. Do you like this format, or would you rather each series only have a single image, leading to a main page, like what the Official Fan Books have? You can cast your vote through this Straw Poll.

Article Section Revamp!

Posted: 2020-04-18 20:37:57

I've never been quite happy with our last revamp of the article section, which was messy and honestly a bit hard to navigate. The section has been updated to be broken down into categories: Merchandise, Assorted, and Reading categories. This should make it easier to find what you're looking for at a glance. The actual magazine scans have been put into their own column to make it easier not to confuse them with similarly named articles.

The Buying Zoids From Japan article (renamed Shopping For Zoids!, and now located as the very first item you see) has been completely rewritten from the ground up. The article now includes a F.A.Q. section, as well as separate pages for Deputy Services and Stores & Markets. The Deputy Services have been updated for a less scroll-heavy layout, with sections added (for those with enough info) for pros, cons, and shipping standards. Japamart and White Rabbit Express have been added to our list of popular services. The info table for every service now lists whether or not it covers Kotobukiya Direct exclusive items, such as the Liger Zero EM.

Stores and Markets have been moved to their own page, divided into International Stores (New Items), International Stores (Used Items), and Japanese Only Markets. Each major store includes a basic rundown, location, and stocking info (if it regularly gets certain items in stock, etc.) Some stores have been added.

Zoids Generations Update!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-03-30 10:55:50

The Zoids Generations page has been updated with Chapter 5! In this chapter we make a quick pit stop to participate in the Sunlight Festival. Soon after, Midori leaves on a task to deliver a warning to Veauregard, the owner of a Zoid Ranch that's already under a lot of pressure. As always, this chapter is translated using google translate, so expect a number of errors. Thank you for your understanding!

Official Fan Book 2 Update!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-03-30 10:55:38

The Zoids Official Fan Book page has been with chapters 3 & 4 of Official Fan Book 2! These chapters are relatively short, but we'll be moving into the meat of the story soon. For now, the bulk of the Republic's forces have to make their way to Europa, before the real war begins! Please be aware that this page uses automatic translations, so may contain errors.

CoroCoro Comic Update!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-03-30 10:55:19

The August 2018 issue of CoroCoro Comic has been added to articles! I've decided to go ahead and start uploading the non-manga scans for the Zoids Wild time period of CoroCoro. These include some amazing diorama images for you to check out!

Posted: 2020-03-19 03:46:35

An update has been rolled out for the Zoids BLOX Promotional Video page (found under Media Box > Inclusive Media > Zoids BLOX). This includes screencaps of the first 2 chapters, as well as a video for the second chapter, which is an overview of the Matrix BLOX.

- New Video Added!

Zoids Wild Dubtitles Page!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-03-19 03:46:06

While Zoids Wild hasn't been picked up by any major subtitle groups, the entire series has now been dubbed in Hong Kong. As such, to tide people over until proper subs become available, a new page has been added for "Dubtitles." These are subtitles timed to the Japanese youtube release, using the script from the English Hong Kong dub. We hope to do at least 2-3 episodes a week. For now we have episodes 8 ~ 11 available. Falcarius was also kind enough to provide his original Subtitle files, which are proper translations of the episodes. This is why we didn't start at episode 1. Subs are always better!

Official Fan Book Volume 2 Update!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-03-08 14:33:14

The second chapter of Zoids Official Fan Book Volume 2 has been added! This chapter covers the first encounter between the Geno Saurer and the Blade Liger, and some insight into other Zoids that possess the Organoid System.

The Start of Zoids OFB 2!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-03-02 04:46:10

Today we have finally started a translation of the Zoids Official Fan Book 2! You can read the introductory pages along with the first chapter. There's also a huge map of the Western Continent and a Liger Zero poster. We'll be actively working on the rest of the book and hope to have more soon. Please note that these pages use automatic translation, so may contain mistakes.

Zoids Generations Update!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-02-25 00:15:50

Chapter 4 of Zoids Generations is now available! In this chapter we begin to hear some important questions, like why Bio Zoids are attacking and devouring other Zoids, and what Seki may know about the situation. We're also introduced to the gorgeous Empressa and her pilot, Sona, the princess of the country of Ya Han, who has arrived to investigate the sudden surge of Bio Zoids.

As a general reminder, our Zoids Generations chapters use automatic translation, so contain a decent number of errors! They are provided as an easier way for readers to get the gist of what's happening in the story, until such a time that better translations become available. Thank you for your understanding!

Webcomic Revamp: The Twin Witches!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-02-21 22:38:23

This isn't exactly new content, but after a few years we've decided to redo our existing webcomic material. The first redux is the Geno Breaker Jet comic, The Twin Witches! When we first posted this comic it was riddled with errors. The whole page has been revamped, and the video reposted with a new, updated version. This should fix all of the errors that were previously present on the page. The manga section has also been renamed from the Zoids Web Comic to the proper name, ZOIDS Delusional War Record. As usual, our translations were done by the amazing Falcarius!

Zoids Chaotic Century Manga Returns!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-02-17 22:58:44

After a long wait we have readded Chaotic Century to the manga section! This down time was extended due to the sudden release of the digital books, but it has been quite some time since then. I appreciate everyone's patience while the manga was down. I know many people have a great deal of interest in this series, but are unable to read Japanese. If you are interested in owning physical copies of the books (in Japanese), please consider purchasing! It is available on AmazonJP and many other stories that handle printed media. If you can't find it, please use our contact page and I would be happy to help you locate a physical copy of the book!

Dengeki Hobby Magazine Update!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-02-12 04:55:18

The June 2001 issue of Dengeki Hobby Magazine has been reuploaded. We had this issue earlier, though it was temporarily missing with the revamp. This is because it was being rescanned with much better colors. No more bleaching out effect on the pages! I'll be working on rescanning more of our old magazine scans. The August 2002 issue has also been uploaded, which contains some concept art. Both issues contain images of huge display Zoids, like the 1/6 scale Leoblaze and Unenlagia.

CoroCoro Comic Update!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-02-12 04:54:23

The July 2000 issue of CoroCoro Comic has been uploaded! These scans are from purchased cutouts, so some pages weren't able to be repaired. This is also why some have cut off text, and we are missing a page. My apologies! On the plus side it contains a lot of cool Geno Breaker imagery, and a piece of concept art for it. It also includes the Death Stinger's concept art, the fan-submitted sketch it was based off of from the Idea Contest, and the prototype of the model kit.

News Section Revamped!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-01-11 23:11:09

So, its been a long time since an update! But while I've been delaying updates, I've had some assistance from a good friend to revamp the news section. This site is almost a decade old, and has been archiving news posts going all the way back to 2013 (which, even still, is quite a while after the site began in 2010). Seven years worth of news posts squished into 6 extremely overcrowded pages. Which, of course, had to be manually updated every time there was a new news post, further augmenting the problem.

News posts are now properly coded into a database, so that they can be sorted and browsed without killing your internet connection. All posts have at least 2-4 tags, which you can use to look up news for specific topics. This means that our links down below, to browse site-specific and official-specific news are both now properly updated every single time there's a news post! So if you only want to know what TakaraTomy is announcing in an official capacity, you can stay up to date. The links under our main news section will also include a tags page, so you can search more easily for specific topics.

We've also implemented a comments section on a trial basis. I wanted people to be able to ask for clarification on certain topics, and thought this would be a convenient way to do so, without having a full blown forum (which isn't needed, with numerous active communities on facebook, discord, etc.) The current setup uses the Disqus comment system, and we'll be ensuring that it remains appropriate for all audiences. This means we ask that you be respectful to other posters, and avoid swearing. This system was created to help people better understand the franchise, and if it turns out to be used as a means to simply bash certain topics or people, with little civil discussion, it'll be removed.

* The links at the bottom of the page are broken, but will be fixed soon!

Official Fan Book Vol. 1 Update!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-01-11 23:10:45

Falcarius dropped an amazing Christmas gift around December 24 ~ 25th -- A full translation of the Official Fan Book Vol. 1! He's given permission for the Fan Book Vol. 1 book to be updated with these translations, so they should now be free of all the errors that crop up from automatic translation~ The whole book is already done.

DHM & HJM Section Revamps!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-01-11 23:10:26

Our sections for Dengeki Hobby Magazine and Hobby Japan Magazine (found under articles) have received some much needed care. Both have been divided into pages organized by year, to cut down on the mass thumbnail loading spam. The main page now, instead, contains tables for the magazines throughout the years. This is a simple checklist, mostly for my own reference, to include what magazines I currently own (and will eventually post- as scans are cleaned up), what ones are known to (or not to) contain Zoids content, and what ones are currently unknown.

With this update, Dengeki Hobby Magazine has also received some updates. You can now find scans for April, November, and September 2002. This contains some neat stuff, like the old Wild Liger statue used in the box art, a Gojulas Mariner custom (well, lots of Giggles content), and some concept art from the Smack Zoids series.

- Zoids Wild EX-ZERO!

On the topic of HJM, the January 2020 issue launched a new series known as "Zoids Wild EX-ZERO". This featured a battle story esque plotline, using custom models in diorama settings to deliver the story. Custom examples were included following the story, and it was heavily implied that it would continue in later issues. However, the February issue contained no Zoids content at all. Here's hoping that more will be added in later issues!

In the mean time, an automatic translation of the new story, Zoids Wild EX-ZERO has been posted! You can find this both under the HJM 2020 page (in the header for that month), and in the books section. As this relies on automatic translation it is bound to have a lot of mistakes, and is provided only as a convenient way to better read those automatic translations. The page includes all content published during that month.

Zoids Index Updates!  [Site]

Posted: 2020-01-11 23:10:14

Two articles have been added to the Zoids Index: Gojulas and Fangtiger! Fangtiger is also our first to include citations, which I'll slowly be working on adding to the earlier articles where necessary. This includes the basics, such as weapon lists and explanations, concept art, and a general overview.
